Over the past few years I have tried all sorts of ways to apply makeup in an easy quick way that will make my skin look at its best.
Almost every week I learn more tips from people online like kandee johnson. Here is a link to her youtube. http://www.youtube.com/user/kandeejohnson?blend=1&ob=4
I also learn about lots of different products I can use, of all different prices.
So here is my easiest tips on basic makeup =)
Remove makeup and cleanse Either in the shower or bathroom sink, I wash my face twice. Firstly to remove any makeup and secondly to cleanse my skin. A couple of times a week I exfoliate to keep skin smoothe.
Moisturise As soon as I have washed my face I dry it quickly and apply an eye creme and moisturiser to keep in that moisture.
Prime I leave my face to settle for atleast 5 minutes after moisturising. This will stop your makeup from fading or sliding off during the day. Your face should be moisturised not greasy. I prime using either a silicone primer like Revlon Bare naturals primer or I use my MAC fix spray till It has dried.
MAKEUP
Apply foundation I use either a brush or my finger tips, make sure either way whatever you use is clean. I find applying with fingertips is a good and cheap way to apply makeup and a greast way to cover each part of your face.
Conceal I lightly use my concealer brush and dab concealer on any blemishes, I then blend it into my foundation while it is still wet. I use a slightly lighter colour to cover any darkness and reflect the imperfection.
Blend and buff I use my duo fiber brush to help blend my foundation and concealer together. This also helps get rid of any excess thick looking foundation and leaves your makeup looking natural and buffed.
Set I set my makeup with mineral powder with my kabuki brush. Makes makeup look nice and flawless.
Bronze I lightly use my powder brush to dust a small amount of bronzer on parts of the face where sun will hit. Adds a nice glow to your skin. You can also use the bronzer on your cheeks, or to add contour.
Now that most of my makeup is done I get the small things done like...curling lashes, mascara, lippy...
And then I finally finish off my look with another spritz of my MAC Fix spray :) Because its aaaamazing!
Hope this helps :)
I LOVE MAKEUP

Shopping for products online?
I thought I would give some advice on shopping for beauty products online.
There is nothing worse than getting that product in the mail and it's not quite what you expected, or you see the same thing on another site for ALOT cheaper.
First things first, if that product you have your eyes on is online for super cheap it is possible that it's not authentic or it could even be used or a company blemish item.
Read read read every detail in that auction you are watching or site you are looking at!
Do your research!! Google sites on how to spot fakes. The more knowledge you have on fake products will save you ALOT of money.
For example: Authentic Mac eyeshadows NEVER come with a mirror and brush compartment inside.
So if you see a cheap mac eyeshadow online that comes with a brush and mirror, ALERT stay away!!!
Make sure you shop around, look at prices at store in your town then compare them to prices online, in some cases you might make a big saving on sites with free shipping like www.strawberrynet.com but in other cases you might only save a few dollars.
Follow your instincts, If a cheap products seems too good to be true then chances are it is.
Sometimes it is best to pay that full price and get what you want, than to be left with a product that you can not use or could possibly have harmful ingredients in it.
I hope this helps :)
If you have any questions just ask :) :)

Obsessed?
Has anyone been so obsessed with something that they just HAVE to have it.
I have this issue with beauty products.
Everytime I hear of a good products or see it in a magazine or on youtube I somehow get the idea that I need it and that It will rapidly change my life.
The past two weeks I think I have spent around $400 on overseas products..
I thought I would explain what I bought and how well I rate the product.
#1 MAC FIX SPRAY I bought this because I kept seeing it on youtube, then I saw it in a magazine and then again on a tv program so I figured It must be good. You can spray It under or ontop of makeup. I do both :) and It gives your skin moisture and minerals and makes your makeup look beautiful and long lasting. I rate it 9/10 I use it every single day under and ontop or my makeup. I am not sure if It does anything amazing for my skin or if there are any miracle ingredients in it but I love how it makes my skin look fresh and dewy.
#2 MAC SLIMSHINE LIPSTICK I bought this off strawberrynet.com and I can confirm it is 100% authentic. Anyway I bought it in the shade gentle simmer and I also love it. Its a light coral colour, not sticky or too glossy. And I find it last longer than some of my other glosses. I give it 7/10
#3 REVLON FABULASH I actually got this as a gift and thought I would give it a try, its meant to encourage growth in your lashes. I have only used it a few days so havnt noticed any difference but will keep you updated. Its not my favourite style of brush and applys it a little too thick for my liking but its fine as mascara goes. 5/10
#4 CETAPHIL GENTLE CLEANSER I bought this to gently remove my makeup, removes makeup well, have only used it for about a week so have not seen any improvements in my skin but I have heard good things about it so will keep updated.
#5 LOREAL BARE NATURALS This is a mineral foundation which I just use lightly over the top of my foundation. It will give almost full coverage if you will want to use it as a foundation alone. I like how t doesnt look too powdery like some mineral makeup. 8/10
#6 MAYBELLINE LINE DEFINER I am not a big fan of liquid liner, I find it a bit hard and messy to apply. This product smells similar to a vivid or sharpie pen haha just not as strong. Maybe I need more practise at applying it. It does not give the black dark colour that I am wanting. I will use it if I am wanting a sort of cat eye look. 5/10
#7 MAC EYE KOHL I bought this in the shade Violet underground and I love it, it applys smoothly, is a great dark purple colour which is a nice change from black. I think I can recommend any MAC products :) 8/10
#8 REVLON COLOURSTAY BROW DEFINER I use this just to slightly darken my eyebrows and fill in any light parts. I especially like this product because it is colourstay so it doesnt smudge or wipe off. 9/10
#9 NEUTROGENA VISIBLY FIRM This is a eye cream with active copper, I was suprised that it is not white lol, its a pale blue/grey colour. I use it under my makeup for extra moisture around my eyes.
It does smell a little funny, kind of metally....like copper haha. Does the job, 6/10
#10 LUCAS PAPAW OINTMENT OMG love this products, I thought I was such a celeb when i bought it online then found out they sell it at The Warehouse. Helps dry lips, heals cuts super fast. I cut my finger by accident with a knife and used the magic cream and it healed overnight. 10/10 :)
I have bought more products which I will review soon including: Dermanew Microdermabrasion System (costed about $120 so it better be good) MAC brushes (because i currently use Revlon which are good also :) and MAC lipsticks and much much more.....:)
Have an awesome day

The one person who inspired me :)
I thought I would start writing blogs on what I am wanting to do with my life, how I will get there and all the little issues along the way.
I have ALWAYS always always always loved hair, makeup, beauty etc.
I want to make myself and others feel beautiful.
I have always been so self conscious with every part of myself but I am hoping that my little journey to become a qualified beauty therapist, and eventually *hoping* a makeup artist I will be more confident and accepting of myself.
A couple of years ago I enrolled in Beauty Therapy but did not qualify because I didn't do science in my 6th form year at school, soo....I settled for hairdressing. I was not happy grrrr, starting from the whopping student loan, and knowing that hairdressers don't make a lot of money I started going to the classes. I flew through all of the theory and was looking forward to getting into the practical work. I absolutely hated hairdressing, I felt as though I was working below my level and that I was settling on a career that I will never enjoy.
So I made the big decision to drop out. One minute a full time student, the next minute working part time as a waitress.
I felt a huge weight lifted on my shoulders :) I do not encourage anyone to just drop out of their course or studies if it gets a bit hard. I just knew I was making the right decision for me.
After I dropped out I decided to spend awile getting some work experience in the hope that something might pop up, or catch my eye involving studies.
I started working in a department store and loved the idea of one day working in the cosmetics department.
I cant even explain the feeling i get surrounded by so many products :) lipstick...peeeerfume....makeup brushes.
I knew makeup was one day going to be my passion.
Last week I enrolled in Beauty Therapy again! I will probably get a reply sometime soon saying If I get in or not.
If i do then GREAT, If not then I will just have to do a short course in massage so I can then do beauty therapy the following year.
Anyway fingers crossed that I get in straight away :)
I am so excited that I am finally on the way to pursuing my dream.
The person who really pushed me to go for it is Kandee Johnson, shes on youtube lol and her blog is on www.kandeeland.com and is an amazing makeup artist.
She has the best advice not only about the best products and tips, but advice on life and happy little messages to make your day.
Anyway I will blog next when I get my results.
Have a suuuuper day :)
